Maguire & Brennan is one of the longest established legal practices in the west of Ireland. The office in Ballinrobe was set up in the nineteeth century. In Claremorris the firm was established in 1916 by Conor Maguire, Solicitor who was subsequently appointed Chief Justice of the Irish Supreme Court.
It was in charge of Gerald Maguire who was appointed Solicitor for Minors and Wards of Court from 1918 to 1961 and in 1961 the practice was taken over by Patrick J. Brennan who practised until 1974. In 1974 Mr. Brennan was appointed a Judge of the District Court until he retired in 1995.
Since 1975 the practice has been owned and run by the current principal Michael G. Brennan, BCL, Solicitor and Notary Public with Patricia Rowley and Maureen Killeen, Legal Assistants.
